Our Next Major Event:

'Big Carp' v 'Match' Style Carp Tournament at Lily Cache Greenway, Bolingbrook, IL

Time and dates

Sunday, November 1st, from 7:00 am

Overview: The JJCAC will be co-hosting a unique Match vs Big Carp style money match at Lily Cache Greenway on Sunday, November 1st. The event is competitive, with any angler wishing to fish for substantial prize money* welcome to attend!!

Full details on this event (INCLUDING A COMPLETE RULE SET AND PRIZE DISTRIBUTION SCHEME) can be viewed at the MCAA site.

*Club members wishing to fish, but NOT enter the prize pool/ compete for prizes, may do so at no charge. Guest anglers (not JJCAC or MCAA members) must pay a $1 guest fee and enter at lest one prize pool).

Directions: Lily Cache Greenway is situated off Webber Road at Parkside in Bolingbrook. Simply take Weber north from I-55 until you reach Parkside (it is a subdivision about a mile north of the expressway on the left). Follow Parkside until you reach the kids playground - the lake is visible to the right. If you miss the Parkside turn, the next major street you reach will be Hassert (by the Lily Cache soccer fields):

Notes: A larger sized retention pond holding good numbers of carp. Bobber (float) tactics work well with corn on the hook, although if the wind picks up sinker or 'feeder rigs make for a good alternative. Previous  years' events have thrown up good numbers of fish, including carp to 10 lb

Event Details

Our ‘on the water’ social / educational and competitive events are scheduled to take place alternately on every second or third weekend from April through to November. Events, with the exception of ‘off the bank’ seminars discussed above, will typically take place on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Our events are open to both members and non-members of the JJCAC. Although club membership is encouraged, non-club members are welcome to fish as guests for their first (complementary) event.

Each event is tailored so that all anglers, from the greenest rookie through to the most seasoned veteran angler, will experience an enjoyable and worthwhile day on the water. Parents and their kids, especially those wishing to capture their first fish, are encouraged to attend educational / social events; while casual or beginning anglers will be able to quickly hone their bank fishing skills through learning more about rigs and tactics during friendly and informal pre-event demonstrations at competitive events. Please e-mail Patrick if you have any questions regarding any of our ‘on the water’ activities.

Bankfishing seminars are also organized on a monthly basis throughout the remaining cooler months (September – March). Each event will take place on a mid-week evening and feature an entertaining ‘in house’ or specially invited guest speaker, as well as hands on demonstrations and activities. Most seminars will take place at Joliet Junior College.
